China Science Fiction Research Center released the 2025 China Science Fiction Industry Report. The report notes that the deep integration of cutting-edge technologies with the sci-fi industry is creating new opportunities for content innovation. Taking sci-fi micro dramas as an example, a total of 169 sci-fi micro dramas have been released across major platforms in 2024. Notably, artificial intelligence has significantly lowered production costs and improved efficiency by supporting script design, unlocking new growth potential for the sci-fi micro dramas sector. Meanwhile, VR technology continues to break through conventional visual boundaries, opening up new creative dimensions for sci-fi content. As these cutting-edge technologies become more widely adopted, China's sci-fi industry is no longer confined to domestic areas—it's now charting new courses in the global tide.
